December Wrap-Up / 2021 At A Glance
Dec. 31st, 2020 06:59 pmGYWO 2020 Word Count Goal: 2,117/75,000# of Days I’ve Written Something: 10 (this is honestly pretty sad)DECEMBER:Monthly Word Count: 0/6,352Nothing really to say, except that I revisited some snippets I’ve written, and I really hope to continue them because I was pleased with a lot of the ideas I had.Projects Worked On:None.End of Year Wrap-Up:I was not expecting to have written so little this year. I certainly wasn’t thinking about writing very often, which is why my monthly wrap-ups dropped off the face of the Earth. But I still had the same frequency of ideas to jot down, so the total does seem strange. This year I was very much a consumer. The latter half saw me getting into Twitch and the world of gaming/streaming, which came to monopolize a lot of my time. I engaged with fandom in new and different ways related to that, and I read and wrote less fic towards the end of the year.Needless to say, the goals I made at the beginning of the year went unfulfilled, though I did seriously attempt the Bingo and end up with a finished video, excellent smut idea, and half-rendered art I feel good about.More stats: I published a total of 187 words, in May (which feels like a lifetime ago—honestly was surprised to see I published anything).2021 Year At A Glance:Sadly, I will not be signing up for GYWO 2021. I think it’s a great community, but writing isn’t going to be one of my top priorities this next year. I really need to work on myself instead. At the same time, I am cautiously hopeful that I will feel inspired to write for fun, maybe some smut (actually finishing one for once) or one of my half-planned longer fics. There are some themes and topics I need to see more in my reading, and why not write them myself?
