# of Days I’ve Written Something: 10 (this is honestly pretty sad)

DECEMBER:

Monthly Word Count: 0/6,352

Nothing really to say, except that I revisited some snippets I’ve written, and I really hope to continue them because I was pleased with a lot of the ideas I had.

Projects Worked On:

None.

End of Year Wrap-Up:

I was not expecting to have written so little this year. I certainly wasn’t thinking about writing very often, which is why my monthly wrap-ups dropped off the face of the Earth. But I still had the same frequency of ideas to jot down, so the total does seem strange.

This year I was very much a consumer. The latter half saw me getting into Twitch and the world of gaming/streaming, which came to monopolize a lot of my time. I engaged with fandom in new and different ways related to that, and I read and wrote less fic towards the end of the year.

Needless to say, the goals I made at the beginning of the year went unfulfilled, though I did seriously attempt the Bingo and end up with a finished video, excellent smut idea, and half-rendered art I feel good about.

More stats: I published a total of 187 words, in May (which feels like a lifetime ago—honestly was surprised to see I published anything).

2021 Year At A Glance:

Sadly, I will not be signing up for GYWO 2021. I think it’s a great community, but writing isn’t going to be one of my top priorities this next year. I really need to work on myself instead. At the same time, I am cautiously hopeful that I will feel inspired to write for fun, maybe some smut (actually finishing one for once) or one of my half-planned longer fics. There are some themes and topics I need to see more in my reading, and why not write them myself?

JULY:

Monthly Word Count: 799/6,352

I found myself in two new fandoms this month, and most of my time was spent combing through the backlog of canon content. Despite that… I almost doubled my yearly word count! LOL because writing a few hundred words is just sooo time-consuming… ha. As ever, I would love to turn the snippets and ideas I wrote into full-fledged fics, but I have a pretty bad track record on that.

Projects Worked On:

■ DNF Snippets - Wrote some dialogue that came to my head.

■ SH Art - Started some fanart based on a stream moment.

PLANS FOR AUGUST:

This will be a busy month for me, so I really just want to stick with my current fandoms and keep having those bursts of inspiration. That works pretty well for me, and I’d rather not try to plan my writing this month.

Projects to Work On:

□ We shall see!

JUNE:

Monthly Word Count: 76/6,148

Really did not make writing a priority this month. I worked on some art pieces, and watched tutorials to learn ways to improve my overall process of going through the steps of digital art. I also fell unexpectedly and suddenly into a new fandom at the end of the month, which now has exclusive hold of my attention.

Projects Worked On:

■ DNF Art - Started some fanart based on a Tweet.

■ DNF Comic - Planned a comic (and some other DNF ideas).

■ DNF Snippets - Wrote some dialogue that came to my head.

■ Richie Art - Did a one night sketch/color of him for practice.

■ MdlC/WW College AU - Did a fair amount of planning and setting up background on this story.

■ August Plans - Began brainstorming.

PLANS FOR JULY:

I have a tentative goal to post for two different prompt events in August, so my July priorities are split between those, and working on improving my digital art skills.

Projects to Work On:

□ August Prompt Events (+ BTB/BTHB if relevant) - Brainstorm, then try to write one every two days or so. Length variable.

□ July 2020 Drarry Drabble - Plan and write!

□ SB Art - Finish detailed flat color.

□ HP Drizzle - If time, revisit last year’s project, start sorting out how to fix it up. Literally just write, you can edit later.

MAY:

Monthly Word Count: 224/6,352

So I typed out my list below before writing this, and honestly? I'm impressed. Even though my word count itself is very low, I worked on a lot more than I initially thought this month.

Projects Worked On:

■ May 2020 Drarry Drabble - Planned and wrote my first drabble for the Monthly Drarry Discord Drabble Challenge. It was a great experience!

■ SB Locker Room - Meant to be a fill for SB Bingo, but I mostly just researched a whole bunch of things that weren’t initially part of my scope for this fic. But honestly I’m really excited for what I want to include, and just hope I get to writing it out.

■ SB Cap Training - Meant to be a fill for SB Bingo, but really only did some initial planning.

■ SB Vid 1 - Almost confident I have a finished project, but didn’t want to post it as my only fill (for the Free Space, at that) for SB Bingo, so I’m saving it for now.

■ SB Art - Finished (sorta) the line art and did a flat color. Also was meant for SB Bingo (ha)

■ SB 5+1 - Did some light edits on an old draft.

■ BTB Bingo Fill 1 - Started my planning, worked through a few pitfalls and outlined more that might show up.

PLANS FOR JUNE:

There are quite a few TV shows going on at the moment and I’m in the middle of a Hunger Games reread, so my attention is caught between many different fandoms at the moment. My goals are somewhat based on my predicted moods this month, as well as trying to finish existing WIPs.

Projects to Work On:

□ BTB and BTHB Fill 1 - Work through my new idea for a crossover, background for the one-shot, and my prospective word count. Then write and post :)

□ BTB Fill 2 - After doing the above ^, reveal the next prompt and start planning. Make Haymiss if possible/desired, or start planning another fic with them.

□ June 2020 Drarry Drabble - Plan and write!

□ SB Cap Training - Finish scene planning.

□ SB Locker Room - Finish scene planning (beginning, what exactly happens in main sequence, how they get left alone, etc.)

□ SB Art - Finish detailed flat color, decide style of detailed color and get going.

□ HP Drizzle - Revisit last year’s project, start sorting out how to fix it up. Literally just write, you can edit later.

□ MdlC/WW - I’m sure I’m going to want to write something with these two. Revisit my old plans and get a longfic going.

APRIL:

Monthly Word Count: 0/6,148

Same old, same old - no progress. I did reread some old WIPs this month, and surprisingly, there was some quality stuff. I need to just get over my barriers and WRITE.

Projects Worked On:

None.

PLANS FOR MAY:

I’ve really been wanting to spend this summer catching up on writing all the story ideas I’ve had previously, especially my ideas for longer fic in each of my fandoms. Since my finals end this first week of May, I’m hoping I can get a schedule going. And I’d love to get stuff posted (and a bingo, maybe?) for SB Bingo before it ends mid-May. I have three (non-fic) things in the works, but I feel like self-doubt might keep me from getting the finishing touches done and posting them.

Projects to Work On:

□ SB Bingo Fill 1- Goal: last touches on Vid 1, make vid acct, post

□ SB Bingo Fill 2- Goal: get clips in last half of Vid 2, do full edit, post

□ SB Bingo Fill 3- Goal: fin line art, initial color, added detail of art, make art acct, post

□ SB Bingo Fill 4- Goal: Ficlet 1

□ SB Bingo Fill 5- Goal: Ficlet 2

After May 15:

□ Merthur fix-it - Get a doc going with all my ideas for this together. Problem is, I need to have seen the final season to actually write this how I want to, so… maybe finish Merlin finally? I doubt my ability to do this lol but I really want to work on this fic atm.

□ HP Drizzle - Revisit last year’s project, start sorting out how to fix it up. Literally just write, you can edit later.

□ SB 5+1 - Edit my draft so far, finish part 1, and plot out the rest of the fic

□ Reddie Discord ideas - Whatever I feel inspiration to write from my ideas

MARCH:

Monthly Word Count: 61/6,352

So coronavirus happened… and Spring Break became extended break became oh great now all my school deadlines are just getting condensed into a smaller timeframe, but ONLINE. But I had some galaxy brain ideas this month, ones that I feel genuinely excited to work on, and actually would have had this last week of March not been Hell Week with deadlines.

Projects Worked On:

■ Reddie TS - Nothing really came of this, but this format for telling a story really appeals to me for some reason, so I’ll probably revisit it at some point.

PLANS FOR APRIL:

Even though I am going into basically my final month of school and will probably be overwhelmed still, I have tentatively high hopes. Stress generally leads to creativity, so if I can find some amount of time, and start up my weekly progress checks that used to work so well for me, this could be a good month.

Projects to Work On:

□ Reddie Audio series - Plan and draft first fic (doesn’t have to be the series’ first fic - maybe start with the second or snippets from the third to get a feel for the characters)

□ SB Bingo - Goal: (same as last month) finalize one vid, write one ficlet, and get through initial color (if not all) of art I’m working on. Plan for more prompts.

□ SB Bang - Decide if signing up for. If so, figure out my writing style on the fic I want to do.

□ Reddie Discord ideas - Whatever I feel inspiration to write from my ideas

□ Work on BB vid, since I’m feeling inspired to finish that up finally

FEBRUARY:

Monthly Word Count: 277/5,943

Still working on getting through the IT canon, but I read an incredible fic that did it for me with Reddie, and reaffirmed my belief that fics focused on healing, even if not explicitly marked as such, are my personal favorites.

Projects Worked On:

■ SamBucky Bingo - Wrote for a prompt, worked quite a bit on some art for a prompt, worked on a couple of vids for prompts

■ Reddie ficlet - Continued a little bit on the same one from last month. I have a bit of a block as to the context for the fic, which is holding me up on writing it.

PLANS FOR MARCH:

I have Spring Break this month, so I’m hoping to get some stuff done over that week. Unfortunately I know I won’t have time for the Ides of March Drarry fest, even though I’d love to participate

Projects to Work On:

□ SB Bingo - Goal: finalize one vid, write one ficlet, and get through initial color (if not all) of art I’m working on. Plan for more prompts.

□ anything Reddie I feel inspired to do; continue ficlet, maybe, or write that Eddie-centric fic I have the concept for

□ Work on BB vid, since I’m feeling inspired to finish that up finally

JANUARY:

Monthly Word Count: 350/6,352

Haven’t exactly been feeling like writing, but at the same time I got into Reddie this month (slowly making my way through IT (the novel, not the films - I haven’t seen those yet either)), and haven’t felt like my itch with that pairing is being scratched yet. So I’ve simultaneously felt somewhat inspired to plan maybe a larger story, for personal benefit.

Projects Worked On:

■ SamBucky Bingo - Did some initial planning for prompts

■ Reddie ficlet - Found a dialogue prompt that I had some ideas for, and wrote a few hundred words. Barely got anywhere in the story; if I finished, it would definitely be a couple thousand words.

PLANS FOR FEBRUARY:

Don’t know that I’ll write much in February, but I am hoping to either do some mini fics for SamBucky Bingo, or vid a bit, or at least try to finish reading IT this month so I can be set up to watch the films over my break in early March, and even maybe write some book-canon fics before then.

Projects to Work On:

□ SB Bingo - Goal: finalize one vid, and write one ficlet

□ anything Reddie I feel inspired to do

# of Days I’ve Written Something: 32

DECEMBER:

Monthly Word Count: 0/12,500

Was not in the writing mood this month, even though there are multiple projects I’d like to work on. I did art some and vid some, and make actual progress on those, so fandom-wise this month was not a total loss.

Projects Worked On:

None.

End of Year Wrap-Up:

This was an interesting year. I’ve never tracked my writing before, and it really changed how I approached writing. Seeing a bunch of 0s for each day was simultaneously motivating and demotivating, and despite feeling like I spent quite a bit of time writing or thinking about writing, I somehow only managed to write 32 days last year. 32 days. That’s barely over a month. But then seeing my total word count, 5,499, that looks like a lot to me (even though it was spread out over a million different projects shh).

More stats: I published a total of 819 words over two fics, both published in March.

2020 Year At A Glance:

I’ve signed up for GYWO again, because I enjoyed tracking my word count, as depressing as my monthly totals often were. I’ve decided that I really need a lower goal, so 75k is what I’m going for this year.

Other writing goals I’ve made include:
- Be one of the first to write and post a fic in a new fandom (challenge to myself to actually get something done in a quick manner, and also to actually consume new media)
- Fill a kink meme prompt
- Write for 2+ days in a ___-tober month (bonus points if I do 5+)
- Get a bingo in SamBucky Bingo (can be a mix of mediums, not just fic)
- Set up my side account for a specific type of writing

There are definitely some fandom things I’m looking forward to in 2020. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier... I am more than ready for that, but I’m also anticipating the new Hunger Games prequel, as well as Venom 2. Those latter two are fandoms I’ve dabbled in but not fully taken the plunge, so I’m eagerly waiting to see if anything will change there. If all goes well, I’ll have finally read (and watched) It, and then I can jump on the Reddie train too!

PLANS FOR JANUARY:

As I am writing this on the first day of the month, I honestly have no clue what fandom I’m feeling right now. I’m going to try to jump back into Merlin and finish that up, and hopefully write a fic I’ve been feeling out for that, but I don’t know if I’ll succeed. This is gonna be a fairly chaotic month as well, so I think my goal is just to get as close to the January word count goal as possible, and leave it open as to what I’ll specifically work on.

NOVEMBER:

Monthly Word Count: 804/12,500

Of course it’s when I’m at my busiest that I actually make time to write -_-

Projects Worked On:

■ Wish Fulfillment Snarry - Without any planning whatsoever I started writing my sort of ultimate Snarry wish fulfillment fic (to procrastinate from school work shh). Don’t know if I’ll really continue it, but it might be something fun to go back to and work on just for myself when I need a break from real life.

■ Drarry Drabble Attempt - I liked my idea for this, but the execution was not going how I wanted so I didn’t end up finishing or submitting a drabble this month. Not a huge loss; I’m glad I tried at least!

PLANS FOR DECEMBER:

I’d love to really focus on and churn out works for Drarropoly. I’ll actually have time this month, which has proven not very helpful in the past, so we will see! It’s the last month of the year, so I’m hoping that will inspire me to work on some things. I’ve also been having inspiration to back to some Merthur fics I had started earlier this year, and maybe my unfinished Drizzle. I read back over them and (despite a couple lines that time and distance from the fic have made cringeworthy) I’m honestly pretty pleased with what I had going.

OCTOBER:

I honestly didn’t even think about writing this month. This whole ‘keeping track of monthly writing’ thing is getting a bit pathetic lol. But I did have some good progress in digital art-ing, so that’s something at least!

Projects Worked On:

None.

PLANS FOR NOVEMBER:

Probably will be way too busy for anything significant, but a fest IS starting this month, and usually I do have a burst of motivation every time this fest rolls around. I might have to wait on it though (as in, wait a few weeks to open my prompt), because I’ll have quite a few projects due around the time it starts -_- Also, just remembered NaNo is this month… oh well \_(ツ)_/¯

PLANS FOR OCTOBER:

Who knows if I’ll have time to write, but I’ve been showing signs of wanting to get back into it.

Projects to Work On:

□ (What was my) HP Drizzle - Goal: Keep on writing

JULY:

Monthly Word Count: 373/12,500

Apparently it’s impossible for me to write at any point besides the end of the month.

Projects Worked On:

■ HP Drizzle - Mostly more outlining, then writing some short snippets as they came to me.

PLANS FOR AUGUST:

This month is going to be super hectic, but it’s important to me that I finish Drizzle. I’ve put so much thought into this fic. And that means next month’s reported word count will be kept a bit secretive, as it’s an anon fest. That’s if all goes well, though. I don’t have much more than a week to get this written and beta read. Fingers crossed!

Projects to Work On:

□ HP Drizzle - Goal: Write the whole fic! Ask for extension if necessary.

□ Advent Fic - Goal: Start plotting and outlining. Consider 25 Days of Drarry

□ Maybe try doing something for HP Rare Pair Shorts or HP DaddyFest

Projects Worked On:

■ HP Drizzle - Huh, I actually do have a working outline for the fic… this might be the first time I kept to a writing goal the whole year. Yeah, I had a sudden burst of inspiration and planned out each of the scenes in my fic.

PLANS FOR JULY:

Every time I write out how I'm going to get writing done, it doesn’t happen. So this month… it’s a secret!

Projects to Work On:

□ HP Drizzle - Goal: Write the whole fic! That’ll give me time to get it beta read by the deadline

APRIL:

Monthly Word Count: 346/12,500

Went on a couple trips this month, so I was feeling very disjointed and my writing “schedule” (ha) suffered for it. Only wrote some on April 30, at like 10 pm because I suddenly felt inspired to. I did, however, come up with a whole bunch of ideas for fics this month (mainly because of Endgame and all my feels about that). I also learned this month in which ways sprinting works for me, and in which ways it doesn’t. I definitely get a lot more on the page, but at the same time I feel more pressured to do that than make sure every word I put down is purposeful and important to the story. Hopefully I can change my mindset about that, so I can actually get my words out, but meaningfully.

Projects Worked On:

■ The Couch Fic - Vaguely planned and started writing (all 346 words went here)

■ WF 5+1 - Looked over my initial plan and started researching and reworking it

PLANS FOR MAY:

We’ll see how this goes. Knowing me, my current taste for HP and Marvel will veer into me wanting to write Sherlock and Merlin instead ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Projects to Work On:

□ Drarryland 2019 Ficlets - Goal: Finish one or two more prompts (although it’s not the end of the world if I don’t), and comment on others’

□ HP Drizzle - Goal: Get a working outline for the whole fic, start writing scene I know I’ll have in there

□ The Couch Fic - Goal: Reconfigure beginning, and try to finish ASAP

□ WF 5+1 - Goal: Get fic fully mapped out, arced, everything. Then reconfigure beginning and start writing wherever else I want to

MARCH:

I was sick most of the month, so very little progress was made on my word count. Which is a shame, because I was so inspired for the first week due to Drarryland. And this last week has had me feeling a lot better (but still with this pesky cough!), but unfortunately there’s been no time to write, and a couple of events to drop from, because I have a trip to prepare for next month :( (Although I am excited for the trip, I don’t know that I can get any writing done at all until it’s over.)

Projects Worked On:

■ Drarryland 2019 Ficlets - Finished and posted two ficlets. Did most of initial planning for third.

PLANS FOR APRIL:

Not much to say here. I don’t really know what to expect from this month. I could either get quite a bit done, or not much at all.

JANUARY:

Monthly Word Count: 2,385/12,500

This month was heavily influenced by my return to watching Merlin -- as of today I’m almost done with Season 3 (whoop whoop). So I may have started 7 different Merthur WIPs… but hey, it’s fine, right? As for my word count goal, I was nowhere close to reaching it. I’m still actually quite pleased with my progress though, as I’ve already written more this month than I did all of last year.

Projects Worked On:

■ Drarropoly 2018 Entries [first fic here] - wrote a couple sentences for

■ Klance “Stars Align” Zine Fic - created a full outline

■ Various Merthur WIPs - 7, 5 of which I’m still actively adding to

■ Febuwhump Prompts - worked on 2 prompts; will probably post only 1

■ Advent Fic - added some more ideas

PLANS FOR FEBRUARY:

So. This month, I’m hoping to: 1) reach my word count goal for the month (going over would be awesome, but I won’t be aiming for that this month), 2) publish at least two chapters/fics, and 3) become more satisfied with my writing style.

Projects to Work On:

□ Klance “Stars Align” Zine Fic - Goal: Complete it

□ Advent Fic - Goal: Decide my goals for the fic, and some of the basic concepts of it

□ Drarropoly Additions - Goal: Complete the “prequel,” and work on its accompaniment

□ Febuwhump Prompts - Goal: Complete and post one of them on the day it’s due

□ 3-chaptered Merlin fic - Goal: Have most of the way completed

□ At least one of my three Merthur smut WIPs - Goal: Have most of the way completed
