GYWO 2019 Word Count Goal: 5,499/150,000# of Days I’ve Written Something: 32DECEMBER:Monthly Word Count: 0/12,500Was not in the writing mood this month, even though there are multiple projects I’d like to work on. I did art some and vid some, and make actual progress on those, so fandom-wise this month was not a total loss.Projects Worked On:None.End of Year Wrap-Up:This was an interesting year. I’ve never tracked my writing before, and it really changed how I approached writing. Seeing a bunch of 0s for each day was simultaneously motivating and demotivating, and despite feeling like I spent quite a bit of time writing or thinking about writing, I somehow only managed to write 32 days last year. 32 days. That’s barely over a month. But then seeing my total word count, 5,499, that looks like a lot to me (even though it was spread out over a million different projects shh).More stats: I published a total of 819 words over two fics, both published in March.2020 Year At A Glance:I’ve signed up for GYWO again, because I enjoyed tracking my word count, as depressing as my monthly totals often were. I’ve decided that I really need a lower goal, so 75k is what I’m going for this year.Other writing goals I’ve made include:
- Be one of the first to write and post a fic in a new fandom (challenge to myself to actually get something done in a quick manner, and also to actually consume new media)
- Fill a kink meme prompt
- Write for 2+ days in a ___-tober month (bonus points if I do 5+)
- Get a bingo in SamBucky Bingo (can be a mix of mediums, not just fic)
- Set up my side account for a specific type of writingThere are definitely some fandom things I’m looking forward to in 2020. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier... I am more than ready for that, but I’m also anticipating the new Hunger Games prequel, as well as Venom 2. Those latter two are fandoms I’ve dabbled in but not fully taken the plunge, so I’m eagerly waiting to see if anything will change there. If all goes well, I’ll have finally read (and watched) It, and then I can jump on the Reddie train too!PLANS FOR JANUARY:As I am writing this on the first day of the month, I honestly have no clue what fandom I’m feeling right now. I’m going to try to jump back into Merlin and finish that up, and hopefully write a fic I’ve been feeling out for that, but I don’t know if I’ll succeed. This is gonna be a fairly chaotic month as well, so I think my goal is just to get as close to the January word count goal as possible, and leave it open as to what I’ll specifically work on.Projects to Work On:□ We shall see!
